KH / ALK Profi-Test Salifert
Excellent test for measuring carbonate hardness and water alkalinity in the aquarium.
The test can be used both in fresh and marine water, but also specifically in the garden ponds.
Prices valid only for online sales
Carbonate hardness is indispensable especially in marine aquariums, where hard corals and invertebrates use carbonate substances such as nourishment and feeding.
We remind you that an optimal value of carbonate hardness in sea water is 8 DKH.
Alkalinity then should be 2.9 MEQ / L.
Liquid reagent test containing a test tube, two syringes and two liquid reagent flasks.
Valid for 100-200 measurements.
Instructions for use:
1) Pour 4 ml of water into the test tube by helping with the supplied 5 ml syringe.
(For a lower resolution but more tests for kits add 2 ml instead of 4 ml).
2) Shake for a few seconds the bottle that contains the KH-IND and add 2 drops into the test container.
(1 drop for less resolution).
3) Strongly insert the plastic tip on the 1ml syringe and filled with KH reagent until the lowest point of the piston is exactly on 1.00 ml.
The air present in the syringe does not affect the test.
4) Add drop drop with 1ml syringe the kH reagent in the test container. Agitated, after each drop, for one or two seconds. Continue so until the liquid will change from a blue / green color to an orange-red or rosé color (the color you see before) 5) Check how KH reagent was poured from 1 ml syringe to the test tube before the water contained Collection color.
The value to be checked is the one on which the black line of the small syringe is.
- to calculate the KH level
Perform the following calculation:
(1 - ml of kh reagent poured into the test tube) x 16
- to calculate the level of water alkalinity
Perform the following calculation:
(1 - ml of kh reagent poured into the test tube) x 5.71
If you have chosen to test with 2 ml of initial water, then multiply the result for 2.
Compare the result with the table attached in the instructions in the package.
