Carbonatic hardness is essential especially in marine aquariums, where hard corals and invertebrates use carbonatic substances such as nutrition and nutrition.

We remember that an optimal value of carbonate hardness in marine water is 8 dKH.

Alcalinity then should be equal to 2.9 meq/L.

Liquid reagent test containing a test tube, two syringes and two bottles of liquid reagent.

    Valid for 100-200 measurements.

    Instructions for use:

    1) Pour 4 ml of water into the tube by helping you with the supplied 5 ml syringe.

(For a lower resolution but a greater number of kit tests add 2 ml instead of 4 ml).

    2) Shake for a few seconds the bottle containing the KH-IND and add 2 drops in the test container.

    (1 drop for lower resolution).

    3) Highly insert the plastic tip on the 1ml syringe and fill with KH reagent until the lowest point of the black part of the piston is exactly on 1,00 ml.

The air in the syringe does not affect the test.

    4) Add drop to drop with 1ml syringe the KH reagent in the test container. Shake, after each drop, for one or two seconds. Continue so until the liquid changes from a blue/green color to an orange-red or pink color (the color you see before) 5) Check how much Reagent Kh was poured from the 1 ml syringe to the tube before the contained water changed color.

The value to control is the one on which the black line of the small syringe stands.

    - To calculate the KH level

    run the following calculation:

(1 - ml of Reagent KH poured into the test tube) x 16

    - To calculate the level of alkalinity of water

    run the following calculation:

(1 - ml of Reagent KH poured into the test tube) x 5,71

If you chose to test with 2 ml of initial water, then multiply the result by 2.

Compare the result with the table attached in the instructions in the package.
