The soccer hydroxide serves to prepare the solution known as "lime water" that allows to keep calcium in aquarium to natural concentrations.

Lime water guarantees a correct football level (directly) and the right carbonate hardness (indirectly). However, these two functions are also linked to the evaporation rate and carbon dioxide (CO2) present.

If these two factors are insufficient you can guarantee additional calcium with Reef Advantage Calcium and carbonate hardness with Reef Builder (Do not dissolve these products directly in the lime water).

Those who already use lime water for their marine aquariums, judge this optimal system for the stabilization of calcium value. Carbonate hardness must be measured and correct to ensure that the precipitation of calcium carbonate does not take place. The magnesium concentration must also be measured and maintained to prevent there is a precipitation of magnesium hydroxide that would change the balancing made by the buffer substances following a drastic lowering of the pH. Furthermore, magnesium is an essential component of salted water and is essential for all corals. It will be a growth of limestone on the substrate and an encrusted surface that will require frequent cleaning according to the operating needs of the aquarium. Instructions for Use

Do not enter the product directly into the aquarium, but dissolve 3 g (1 teaspoon) in 4 lt of fresh water. If you use pure water, you can also prepare a saturated solution dissolving 6 g (2 teaspoons) in 4 lt of fresh water. Pour into aquarium a little at a time. Keep the pH and carbonate hardness under control. Adjust the entry to obtain a stable pH at 8.3 - 8.4.

Suggestions: 4 lt of a saturated lime water solution in 150 sea water rises the 24 mg / lt football level. Always use the light liquid (upper part), avoiding to enter the non-dissolved sediment (lower part) into the aquarium. When you don't wear keep the container tightly closed and minimize contact with the air to prevent the calcium carbonate from falling.
