Iodine is as toxic as chlorine and should never be used in the aquarium. The iodides are confident vice versa.

Most iodine supplements on the market are simply potassium or medicinal disinfectant known as a Lugol solution. This solution has a high concentrate of iodine / iodide which is highly toxic and is used to disinfect. Although some products are sold to be used in the reef aquarium, we believe that greater risks arrange only less benefits. Potassium iodide is only a bland alternative product but not very effective due to the unstable Iodine nature in the aquarium. When placed in the aquarium, it becomes unstable by transforming the iodine into elements (which is a biocide), the iodist (which is useless for corals, toxic at high levels, and cannot be subjected to measurement tests) and the iodide which is the Iodine form only available from corals. Unlike most products on the market, Reef Iodide ™ is a stabilized compound that allows you to add iodine into the aquarium without destabilizing the other elements.

Instructions for use:

Beginners: Add 5 ml for every 200 LT always every other day.
