Pogostemon helferi on lava stone.
The aquariums of Thailand, near the border with Burma, discovered this plant. In Thailand it is called “Downoi” (small star) and it is easy to understand why (5-10 cm in height and width). Pogostemon helferi is an unusual and particular aquatic plant, with a compact bearing, curled leaves and an extraordinarily beautiful green color.
In the presence of good light conditions and a substrate rich in nutrients, the Pogostemon helferi forms many lateral shoots that develop small roots and the plant quickly forms an impressive carpet of vegetation in the foreground.
