Natural biofillating support of the highest quality of * Nitrate ™ eliminates nitrates, nitrites, ammonia and organic substances both from fresh water aquariums and marine water tanks. The high porosity of De * Nitrate ™ promotes the proliferation of both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria which, in turn, contribute to the elimination of toxic aquarium residues. Even when it is being exhausted, as organic adsorbent, de * Nitrate ™ continues to act as an excellent support of the biological filter and it is not necessary to remove it.

Because it is different

The live rocks remove nitrates through an anaerobic denitrification. De Nitrate removes nitrates through the same process, thanks also to its very porous form. In fact, as for live rocks, the anaerobic conditions are obtained through the porosity and exhaustion of oxygen occurring due to the aerobic process on the surface. Therefore very high flows should be avoided as they could prevent the development of an adequate anaerobic process to support denitrifying bacteria.

De Nitrate is also an excellent aerobic nitrification material and therefore makes it an ideal biological filter in all types of filters. For high water flows (larger than 400 liters per hour) it will only make a aerobic filtration. At low flows (less than 200 liters per hour) an aerobic filtration will also be created.

Instructions for Use

For a better result, place the product in a place crossed by an abundant water flow, like a basket filter, chemical filtration compartment or a special box for filtering. The flow must not exceed 200lt now. If the flow is greater, we recommend the use of Seachem Matrix or Seachem Pond Matrix. The concentration of nitrates will begin to reduce the beginning of the operation of De Nitrate already after a few days.

500ml of product can handle up to 100-200lt, based on the initial concentration of nitrates and organic load.

If the initial concentration of nitrates should be very high it is advisable to bring down the level by means of water changes at a lower value of 20mg / lt.
