The Myriophyllum matogrossense originates in the Mato Grosso, on the Rio Amazonas in Brazil. It has decorative and feathers, reddish stems (30-60 cm long) and finely divided bright green leaves (5 cm wide).
In good light conditions the leaves spread in a fan form. Myriophyllum is relatively easy and is suitable for background. It needs frequent cuts to maintain its bushy shape. It is fast growing and requires good nutrition.
