Hygrophila PolysPerma 'White' is a varied ornamental ornamental selection which, once flooded cultivated, develops a characteristic light green pattern. Ideal for central or rear area of the aquarium, it grows quickly, easily adapts and creates strong chromatic contrasts in the aquascaping layouts.
Hygrophila PolySperma 'White' is a selected cultivar in greenhouse that stands out for the particular clear variegation of the leaves. In emergence form appears light green, but once inserted in the aquarium, a senior white-pale and green pattern develops that makes it one of the brightest stem plants ever.
It belongs to the Acanthaceae family and is closely related to the classic Hygrophila Polysperma, note for robustness and adaptability.
Vertical growth with good branching
Opposite leaves, lanceolate
White-green variegation in submerged form
Interior close-up with adequate light
Compact bearing with regular pruning
Growth is rapid and vigorous, especially in the presence of good lighting.
The strength is the clear and varied coloring:
pale green with cream white pattern
more obvious shades with intense light
contrast marked with red or dark green plants
It is ideal for:
create light points in the layout
break dark vegetable masses
increase visual depth
In Dutch layouts or Nature Style is often used as a contrast plant.
Thanks to fast growth and good adaptability it is indicated for:
central area in medium aquariums
rear zone in small aquariums
high density pianted aquariums
layout with strong chromatic contrast
It lends itself very well as a "filling" plant thanks to the rapidity of growth.
Requires medium-high light to maintain evident variudent.
with insufficient light tends to lose white
with adequate light remains compact
intense lighting promotes dense growth
Recommended values: Medium-high LEDs or equivalent exceeding 0.5 W / L.
Not mandatory but recommended for:
more compact growth
greater intensity of the pattern
reduction of the extension of the interior
Optimal values: 15-25 mg / l for high-tech aquariums.
Being a rapid growth plant consumes nutrients significantly.
Like:
full fertilization NPK
constant microelements
balanced iron
Stable conditions avoid yellowed or loss of variegation.
Temperature: 22 - 28 ° C
pH: 6.0 - 7.5
GH: Medium
KH: low-medium
It is a resistant and adaptable plant, also indicated for beginner aquariums.
Regular pruning is essential to maintain compact shape.
cut the upper part when it reaches the desired height
replant the cuttings to browse
remove damaged lower leaves
Pruning stimulates lateral branching and density.
Cultivated in greenhouse above the water level, can submit:
lightly different leaves
any small foliary protuberances
After insertion in the aquarium:
the leaves emerged will be replaced
the plant will develop varied submerged leaves
adaptation takes place in 2-4 weeks
This process is normal and physiological.
Being an amphibious plant it can also be cultivated:
in Paludari
in wet terrariums
in areas that emerged open tanks
In emergence form, it appears clearer green, with less variegation.
Fast and robust growth
High adaptability
Strong visual impact
Easy propagation
Fit to beginners
It is an excellent choice for those who want a clear plant that lights the aquarium without requiring extreme conditions.
