Cryptocoryne parva, native to Sri Lanka, is the smallest of all Cryptocoryne (only 3-6 cm tall and a rosette less than 5-8 cm wide). It is one of the few species that does not significantly change the shape and color of the leaves according to the conditions of cultivation. It needs more light than most other Cryptocorynes, as it tends to lose much of the foliar foil under water. Therefore, it should never be shaded by other plants.
Known for its slow growth, the use of nutrient capsules in the substrate will promote its development. The individual plants must be planted a few centimetres away from each other and, after about six months, form a cohesive group of low plants.
It is a highly recommended plant.
