NITRATES are the final product of the nitrogen cycle and result from the decomposition of food, plant and fish waste. Soon they tend to accumulate in the aquarium, since plants use only a small portion of them. The excessive accumulation of nitrates in the water promotes the growth of algae, which, in addition to being unsightly, can slow down plant growth and the wellbeing of the aquarium. In addition, at high concentrations, nitrates become dangerous to fish health. ZERONITRA DOLCE releases nitrates within 48 hours and keeps nitrate levels at a minimum. The effectiveness of ZERONITRA DOLCE is variable and depends on the organic load in the aquarium, population density and specific water conditions.
