The Echinodorus 'Red Chili' is a particularly sought-after plant cultivar, rather small, which apparently resembles the 'Hot Pepper' Echinodorus.
The submerged leaves are narrow, almost linear, and bright red.
The plant reaches a height of about 20 cm.
It is supplied mainly in its emerged form (terrestrial) with very different green leaves, with a long stem. Planted in the aquarium will develop new submerged leaves with the described appearance.
Like the other Echinodorus, the 'Red Chili' grows better with a substrate rich in nutrients. At least a moderate luminous intensity is recommended; More light enhances red coloring. 'Red Chili' is distinguished from the other red cultivars of Echinodorus for the shape of the narrow leaf and the rather small dimensions.
It can be used in smaller aquariums and is better as a solitary plant or in a small group in the center center; In larger aquariums even in the foreground.
