Providing the essential trace elements that are part of the coral skeleton and their soft tissues is extremely important for SPS corals if you want them to show their natural pigments.

Redsea research has identified 31 trace elements that, in addition to the elements present in the Redsea Foundation, are present in the coral skeleton and soft tissues.

The Reef Color Line divides these elements into four groups (Reef Colors A, B, C & D), Depending on the biological function they perform and also on the specific color in the soft tissue they favor.

These pigments can only be produced if the specific elements necessary for the biochemical process are available in the right concentration.

All types of hard corals require all these 31 elements, regardless of the color of the coral itself.

Reef Color Supplements have been formulated in such a way that the ratio of the elements in each supplement is the same as that found in soft tissues and coral skeleton.

The research has identified a constant relationship between each of the Reef colors and the overall consumption of calcium, which is proportional to the growth of corals and metabolic activity.

This provides a simple and safe method, based on the absorption of measured calcium, of administration of Reef Color products.

Reef Colors A, B and C each contain an important element (idine, potassium and iron) that can be measured with specific tests.

Reef Color D is a complex of 18 trace elements. These 18 elements participate in the metabolic process inside the coral skeleton and soft tissue.

D elements are related to the development of blue/porpora chromo-proteins.
