Aiptasia-X Red Sea 60 ml

Live rocks are essential in barrier aquariums and as the name indicates they are colonized by a rich variety of living marine organisms, many of which play a significant role for a healthy marine aquarium.
One of the organisms that is most often introduced in the aquarium with new living rocks (and sometimes with corals) is the Aiptasia sp. also known as Glass anemone. Aiptasia is an hermaphrodite and constantly releases the planula (larval-stage anamone) into the surrounding water, which can fix on the rocks or glass and turn into a real anemone.

Aiptasia sp is easily adapted and spreads like algae even in difficult aquatic conditions. It severely damages the sessile invertebrates that inhabit the aquarium by irritating the delicate tissue and struggling with these for food and space. Aiptasia sp. is considered as an epidemic and if neglected it will occupy the entire aquarium. It is essential to eliminate it before it reaches considerable size.

The anemones of Aiptasia sp. are notoriously difficult to eliminate physical removal is difficult as they quickly portray themselves in small live rock cavities when touched. Physical removal is also ineffective as when they perceive danger they release the planula into the water.
As if not enough, some residual tissues remain constantly anchored to the rock and can regenerate into new Aiptasia sp., producing them even more than before.

The most effective method of eliminating Aiptasia sp is through strong chemical agents, which however are difficult to administer in pure solution and can damage the coral reef.

Aiptasia-X:
The Red Sea's Aiptasia-X is a patented formula, safe for the barrier for simple and effective control of Aiptasia.
Aiptasia-X is a unique compound of natural elements, in a dense and adhesive mixture that globulates in contact with aquarium water. It is easily injectable near the oral cavity of the anemone and stimulates it to ingest the material without that it retreats into the rock hive. Adhesive particles effectively seal the oral cavity and the mouth of the anemone avoiding the release of planules.
Within a few minutes from the ingestion of Aiptasia-X the anemone will implode and will be extinguished along with the planules.
Aiptasia-X particles will not affect the sessile polyps of corals and will allow an efficient treatment of Aiptasia grown in coral colonies.
Excess aiptasia-X will decay over time without causing damage to the barrier.

Instructions for use:
Before using the treatment of Aiptasia-X in the aquarium, turn off all appliances that cause water movement and let it act for about 15 minutes after administering the material for 'Aiptasia-X.

Acting I bottle with strength.
Fix the needle on the syringe by turning it to the bottom
Insert the needle into the bottle and fill the syringe with material for Aiptasia-X.
Slowly approach the needle tip to the oral cavity of the anaemone of Aiptasia to be treated by carefully releasing small amounts of material: Let the tentacles of the anemone close on the needle.
Spread the solution on the entire surface of the oral cavity of the anernone until the tentacles begin to retreat from the needle. It is necessary to cover the entire cavity choirs the material to prevent the release of planules.
To treat the small colonies of Aiptasia spread the solution on all the infected air.
Make sure to treat a high number of anemons in a single treatment.
If you need to fill the syringe with more material make sure that there is no salt inside the syringe before inserting it into the bottle of Aiptasia-X.
The residues of the solution can be left to decompose naturally in the aquarium.
After completing the treatment, rinse the syringe with boiling water to remove the residual material and avoid filling.
