Staurogyne repens is a fresh, compact and resistant green plant for the first floor of the aquarium and was found in the Rio Cristalino river in the southern Amazon.
His closest relative in aquariaphila is Hygrophila, but Staurogyne differs due to its compact, low and bushy stature (5-10 cm) and small green leaves (every stem is 3,4 cm wide). When planting in the aquarium, the longer sprouts in vertical position should be cut and new horizontal creeping sprouts soon form from the base of the plant and will gradually colonize the gravel.
In low light conditions, growth will be more upright and fewer lateral shoots will form.
