The Helanthium 'Quadricostatus', coming from South America, has 10-15 cm long light green leaves that offer a great contrast to darker aquarium plants. It is very beautiful if planted in groups, each rosette becomes 15-20 cm wide. It grows well with a rather low light.
In good condition, it produces runners that spread on the bottom. The very pale leaves are a sign of a shortage of microelements. There is some confusion about the name of this plant, which was sold as Echinodorus bolivianus var. magdalenensis
