Gratiola viscidula is native to North America and is relatively new for aquatic hobby. The somewhat “spinous” aspect of the submerged form makes it very distinct and easily recognizable.
It is easy enough to cultivate and prefers good light. With a regular pruning it can be kept very low, almost like a carpet, but it will be well also as a pillow plant of first and medium soil.
Each stem is about 1-2 cm wide and can become 10+ cm tall. The stem branches and extends willingly giving a very dense appearance to the plant.
