“Araguaia” is a river system of Brazil and it is with this name that the plant has become known. Many clues, however, suggest that it is a Hygrophila lancea from Japan and Hong Kong.
The stem becomes 10-20 cm tall and 6-15 cm wide. It has compact and close leaves and makes the branches grow easily. The pinching of the stems keeps a bushy appearance. The color goes from reddish brown to purple, favored by good growth conditions. The growth rate is average for a Hygrophila.
