Tissue culture aquarium plant in a closed vase.
The Limnobium Laevigatum, a native to South America, is a decorative floating plant particularly suitable for open aquariums.
High 1 to 5 cm high and with leaves of 5 to 15 cm wide.
It is also good in traditional aquariums, because the fine, long and decorative roots protect the gouramia and other surface fish that love the roots of floating plants. If the water contains enough nutrients and the intensity of the light is good, the new leaves will appear above the water surface. It may be necessary to remove some to prevent the underlying plants still receive a little light.
When the level of nutrients in water decreases, growth will be much slower, which makes it an excellent indicator of the available nutrients.
