Aquarius plant from tissue culture in closed pot.
This plant was discovered by aquarists in Thailand, near the border with Burma. In Thailand it is called “Downoi” (small star) and it is easy to understand why (5-10 cm in height and width). The Pogostemon helferi is an unusual and particular aquatic plant, with a compact bearing, curled leaves and a surprisingly beautiful green color.
With good light conditions and a substrate rich in nutrients, the Pogostemon helferi forms many lateral shoots, which develop small roots, and the plant quickly forms an impressive carpet of vegetation in the foreground.
