Oranda Calico is one of the most decorative varieties of red fish. The combination of light livery and fleshy growth on the head makes every single specimen. If correctly bred, this fish fully shows its colors and can live up to 15 years, making a true protagonist of the aquarium.

Ideal habitat in the aquarium

• Recommended minimum volume: 100-150 liters for adult specimen; Increase proportionately for more subjects.

• Filtration: powerful, with sufficient biological component to treat organic substances produced by fish.

• Bottom: fine sand or rounded gravel to avoid mouth damage and fins.

• Furniture: roots and polished objects, free of edges. Avoid sharp elements.

• Lighting: moderate, widespread; Sufficient to highlight colors and keep robust live plants.

Furthermore, it is not possible to predict the compatibility between the water of our breeding and that of your aquarium, since we do not know the specific chemical-physical parameters of each domestic tank. For this reason, we recommend a gradual acclimatization of at least an hour, introducing small amounts of water of the aquarium in the shipping bag every 5-10 minutes.
