Oranda Butterfly It is a fine ornamental variety of Carassius Auratus, selected for your Extremely wide and horizontal caudal fin, appreciable above all by observing the fish from above. TheOranda Butterfly It is a historical and highly selected variety of the Carassius Auratus, originating in Japan from the cross between Ryukin and Ranchù. Its distinctive feature is the "Butterfly" caudal fin, which opens horizontally forming a large flat semicircle, with margins often folded down.
The body is ovoidal, short and very swollen, with pronounced abdomen. The head is pointed, driven by flakes, with front and slightly concave throat. The eyes are relatively small and slightly protruding. The livery can be metallic red, red-white, gray-iron or Calico (mottled), particularly appreciated for ornamental value.
This variety has been historically selected to be admired from the top, legacy of the ancient porcelain (cachepot) vessels used in China and Japan over a thousand years ago.
Ideal habitat in the aquarium
The Oranda Butterfly it is not suitable for crowded community tanks. Requires quiet rooms, with calm water and great stability of the parameters.

Furthermore, it is not possible to predict the compatibility between the water of our breeding and that of your aquarium, since we do not know the specific chemical-physical parameters of each domestic tank.
