400 liters with 4 ° kH (at 200 l for 10 ° kH).
It can be strengthened for higher levels of hardness or large aquariums.
It works without additional pumps.
Including a bubble counter.
It can be completely removable, easy to clean (with JBL Powerclean).
Description:
Extensible CO2 passive reactor, with the maximum diffusion of the CO2 rate in water.
The modular building of the reactor JBL Proflora Taifun allows its adaptation practically to any type of aquarium with optimal CO2 use.
The base version with 10 modules provides sufficient CO2 for aquariums up to 400 l.
The JBL Proflora Taifun provides additional five modules by increasing the capacity of another 200 l.
The particular construction of the spiral channel increases the upward thrust of the CO2 bubbles, while the ventilation louvers placed on both sides guarantee the complete diffusion of CO2 emissions in the surrounding environment without the need for an additional water pump to create Current.
Thanks to the transparency of the reactor, the bubbles can clearly be observed in their position, allowing the maximum amount of CO2 emissions to establish, even without a bubble counter.
Installation:
First thoroughly rinse the reactor in warm water. Do not use detergents.
Mount the reactor vertically in the aquarium in a place with a slight water current. The upper edge of the device must be at least 2 centimeters under the water surface.
Connect the CO2 tube for the pressure regulator and pass some bubbles through the device.
At first the bubbles will pass through the spiral channel with an intermittent flow from the bottom upwards. The device needs approx. 48 hours to stabilize. After this time a biological film has formed within the canal that will allow the bubbles to climb upwards upwards. During the journey the bubbles become smaller than the CO2 spreads in the surrounding waters.
Note:
After some time the collection cap will fill with the gas that occasionally escapes upwards through the ventilation openings. This gas is not CO2, but "false" gas that are sometimes present in small quantities in CO2 cylinders or found in the waters and mix with bubbles.
The reactor should be cleaned as little as possible. Therefore we recommend assembly in a position in the darker aquarium as possible with adequate water circulation.
The number of bubbles:
How much CO2 is needed dependent on the amount of water, carbonate hardness, the level of pH and the plants of plants. Starting initially with a bubble in each curve depending on the device and slowly increase the number over several days, as requested. The pH level can be used to monitor the quantity. We advise you to use the JBL Test Set Permanent CO2 Plus pH.
Maintenance:
The reactor is made of transparent makrolon that allows the optimal observation of the bubbles. If necessary it can be cleaned with tap water. The device can be disassembled for cleaning by pulling the individual parts, vertically. After cleaning, it is sufficient to reassemble. The individual modules fit together to ensure proper installation, for a continuous channel.
Optional modules:
The spiral channel can be extended if necessary, with the addition of any extensions (JBL Proflora Taifun Extend).
