Proaquatest pond check PH/KH, quick test for acidity and pH stability
- Easy and safe control of water values: pH and carbonate hardness determination in pond water, tap and spring
- Easy to use: fill the test tubes with pond water, add to each 5 drops of reagent, stir slightly until even coloring, after 1 minute compare the color with the colorimetric board
- The pH must be 7.5-8.5 and not oscillate too much. The KH stabilizes the pH value and must be at least 4° dKH
- In the theme area Laghetto on the site JBL find comprehensive information on water analysis and troubleshooting
- Content: quick test, pH and KH test, incl. 2 test tubes for measurements, pH reagent, KH reagent, colour chart, instructions for use (reasons sold separately)

Healthy ponds in conditions as in nature
The correct water values in the pond depend on the fish population and the plants present. Water can be contaminated even if it seems clear. With negative parameters can arise diseases and form algae. To maintain a healthy pond with conditions similar to natural ones it is important to check and adjust the water values regularly.
JBL provides water tests for any type of water analysis in the form of rapid tests or color-virage tests. These determine a certain value or several values at once. With such water tests you can recognize algae problems and negative values of nitrate, nitrite, potassium, magnesium etc.
Why examine?
The constant maintenance of the correct pH is an important premise for the well-being of the inhabitants of the ponds and for a prosperous growth of the water plants. In addition, many dissolved substances in water depend on the pH value. The pH oscillations should be avoided.
Carbonate hardness (KH) shows the sum of carbonates (HCO3) and hydrogencarbonates (HCO3)2. These minerals are able to bind acids and bases and thus stabilize the pH in the desired field. With KH values below 4 °dKH the pH is not stable and oscillates strongly between 6 and 12. These strong swings are negative for all creatures in the pond!
