How to do the test
1. Repeatedly rinse the test tube with water to analyze.
2. Fill the test tube with 5 mL of water to analyze.
3. Add 5 drops of reagent Ca 1 and shake the tube for a few seconds.
4. Add a cup of powdered reagent Ca 2 (green container), stop and shake the tube for a few seconds. The solution will color red-violet.
5. Mount the plastic spout on the syringe tip aspiring 1 mL of the reagent Ca 3 and put it slowly in the tube until the water sample will turn to the blue color. The number of tenths of mL required to turn the liquid color into the test tube will indicate the calcium content according to the notes in the table at the back of this leaflet. You can also calculate the calcium content by multiplying by 500 the number of mL necessary to change the liquid in the test tube. Example: 0,80 mL of reagent Ca 3 necessary to turn the color from violet red to blue X 500 = 400 mg/L of calcium.
