Each liter of Exxodus • Nitryx provides over 71,000 square meters of internal surface for bacterial colonization, which provides nitrification (if used aerobically) and large amounts of anaerobic or anoxic surface to promote denitrification.

A brick provides about 100,000 square feet of surface useful for bacterial colonization.

In addition, Exxodus • Nitryx is unique as it is drugged with sulfur particles acting as an electron donor for growing large amounts of anaerobic microbes to provide a huge denitration capacity – much larger than any other known material. It can be used as your primary or unique medium of bacterial denitration. It works extremely well in nano aquariums, as well as systems of all sizes. It is particularly suitable for coral reef systems with FOWLR live systems and will not favor problems that can cause alcohol denitrators. Use in a concealed filter, reactor or other type of aquarium filter with SLOW water flow. Mainly designed to be submerged to favor anaerobic or anoxic conditions, but can be used in a dripping system for greater nitrification.
