The Aponogeton longiplumulosus of Madagascar has large and grooved leaves (lengths 35-60 cm), which makes it a wonderful plant that can be recommended for large aquariums (the whole plant becomes 25-40 cm wide).
The bulb can be covered with the bottom layer, provided the tip of the sprout is on the surface of the soil. It is relatively small and requires no particular water quality. A nutrition capsule placed under the bulb greatly increases its growth. Also, it flowers frequently, which makes it a nice addition to any large open aquarium.
Growth stops at regular intervals, but usually resumes after a few weeks of sleep.
