Amtra Biorings Freshwater is an active matrix filter material consisting of a mix of selected ingredients and blended with maximum care (glass and sintered ceramics, loam, trace elements including iron, sodium and calcium).

A liter of product has a useful surface for the installation of microorganisms of about 200sqm. The special formulation of Amtra Biorings Freshwater promotes the formation of electrostatic bonds with the suspended organic component favoring bacterial settlement.

The wide surface and high porosity make it the ideal substrate to promote processes of decomposition of nitrogenous harmful compounds (ammonia and nitrite) by nitrifying bacteria.
