Research Red Sea On the metabolic demand of SPS, LPS and tender corals identified 31 secondary elements and traces that next to the basic elements are present in the skeleton and soft tissue of all corals. These elements are known as major biocatalysts in thousands of metabolic processes in marine organisms and therefore must be readily available in all barrier aquariums. However, many of them become toxic in concentrations higher than the levels present in sea water in nature and therefore the correct dosage is crucial for long-term success of any barrier aquarium.
Our research has identified 4 distinct groups of elements with similar biological functions as well as a direct connection to the specific pigments of the corals which allows the division of 31 elements in 4 Coral Colors A, B, C & D supplements. The Coral Colors Supplements have been formulated in such a way that the relationship of the elements in each supplement is identical to that found in the skeleton and in the soft fabric of the corals.
All Coral Colors should be integrated regularly in all LPS and SPS aquariums regardless of the colors of the specific corals or if the water parameters (levels of the basic and nutrient elements of the algae) have been set for better color or accelerated growth.
