Starry Eusterteralis, also called Pogostemon Stellatus, belongs to the Lamiaceae family, and comes from the marshes of eastern and south-eastern Asia and northern Australia. In nature there are very different varieties of this species, since its distribution area is vast.

Starry Eusterteralis is a breathtaking beauty plant, which has a very popular aquarium plant. Unfortunately it is not easy to cultivate and has high needs in terms of light and fertilization. It requires good lighting, tender water, and a background material rich in nutrients.
An insufficient light leads to the loss of lower leaves. A constant co2 contribution is also a must if you want to enjoy the beauty of the plant at most. Nitrates, phosphates and micronutrients should be added to the long-term hitness of cultivation. The concentrations of nitrates (5-20 mg / l) and phosphates (0.2-2 mg / l) are not really relevant as long as stable maintained. In fact, if the growth conditions change too rapidly, the upper bud of the plant can develop a stapled appearance and form side shoots.

Starry Eusterteralis is an excellent micronutrient / iron indicator: their deficiency makes the yellow leaves and even white in extreme cases. High levels of nitrates and phosphates make the green leaves, while lower levels of these nutrients induce colors from purple to orange.

This plant develops many side shoots, which can be cut and replanted to propagate the plant. Pruning can be performed in two ways: replacing the old plant with the cut sprout or planting the bud elsewhere.

It is a very beautiful and decorative plant growing very quickly. The stem is quite fleshy, and it easily breaks into the operations of accommodation in the bottom. If you recide the apex of the stem, numerous side jets are formed on the remainder, which must be deepened, otherwise they become smaller.
Starry Eusterteralis is probably one of the most decorative aquarium plants and can be the optical recall point at the center of an aquarium, provided that your needs are met. Its captivating colors and attractive foliage create a beautiful contrast with green leaf-leaf stem plants.
