Perennial marsh plant, about a meter, partly emerged and partly submerged. The leaves emerged are supported by a long stem from 10 to 75 cm, the submerged have the shorter stem. Oval and rather wide at the base, the leaves become sharp and beveled upwards, with 10-18 cm long leaf foil and 6-15 cm wide. The inflorescence rests on a long stem, from which numerous vertices depart. The flowers, with three corollas, are white, oval and long about 9 mm. After flowering, the stems fold down down.
It is a very decorative aquatic plant, suitable especially to very heated and paludarium aquariums. It can be cultivated both submerged and emerged.
Because prosperous luxuriant must keep it in light and at a temperature of 20-25 ° C.; To prevent it from excessively growing, the bottom must be a lean sand, free of clay. Growing up, the plant stretches the stem over the water surface and then takes to bloom. Sprouts are developed on the floral stem that, when robust enough, can be disconnected and use for playback.
