Large mother plant, cultivated in a square vessel of 9 cm.
The cultivar Echinodorus 'Barthii' is a decorative and beautiful solitary plant for great aquariums. It becomes 25-50 cm high and the whole rosette is 20-30 cm wide.
The leaves change color, passing from the dark red of the younger leaves to the dark green of the older ones. The color develops well when the light intensity is high and the aquarium contains a sufficient amount of micronutrients. A nutritious fund and the addition of CO2 promote growth. This plant takes a lot of light from the underlying plants, so it must be punished from time to time.
Once it was sold as "Double Red".
