Cyperus species are widespread in all tropics, but only some of them are good underwater plants. The Cyperus Helferi, coming from Thailand, is the first species of cyperus used in aquarium, 20-35 cm high and with a wide rosette 15-25 cm. It requires a relatively high amount of light and the addition of CO2 is recommended to promote growth. In aquariums with a good water flow the plant waves magnificently in the current.
