Large mother plant, cultivated in a square pot of 9 cm.
The cultivar Echinodorus 'Barthi' is a decorative and beautiful solitary plant for large aquariums. It becomes 25-50 cm tall and the whole rosette is 20-30 cm wide.
The leaves change color, passing from the dark red of the younger leaves to the dark green of the older ones. The color develops well when the light intensity is high and the aquarium contains a sufficient amount of micronutrients. A nutrient fund and adding CO2 promote growth. This plant takes a lot of light from the plants below, so it must be pruned occasionally.
It was once sold as “Double Red”.
