The Ceratopteris thalictroides is a pantropical fern, 15-30 cm tall and 10-20 cm broad.
This plant normally grows quickly, but it may be necessary to add CO2 to promote its growth. In small and open aquariums, it can grow out of the tub and form beautiful superficial leaves. The finely ramified leaves are very decorative and create a good contrast with the other forms of leaves. In the presence of good light, Ceratopteris thalictroides grows quickly and helps prevent algae by consuming large amounts of nutrients. For this reason it is a good starting plant in small aquariums.
