Anubias barteri var. nana is a small attractive plant that thrives in all conditions. Originally from Cameroon, it reaches a height of 5-10 cm, while the rhizome can grow up to 10-15 cm or more. Its growth is slow, and the leaves can last for several years, offering slow-growing algae the opportunity to settle.
To achieve the best results, it is advisable to plant it on a stone or a piece of wood. You can use fishing wire to fix the plant until it is rooted. If planted on the bottom, it is important not to cover the rhizome, since it tends to rot. It often blooms under water and is not eaten by herbivorous fish.
