Family Aracee
Origin Tropical Africa.
Description Rezomatous perennial plant, which in the spontaneous state reaches about forty and more than cm of height, but which in the aquarium hardly touches the 30 cm. It has lanceolate leaves, almost octuse at the top, 10-12 cm long, 3 to 5 cm broad, long petiole, with coriaceous lamina of dark green colour, concave above.
Multiplication It happens very slowly, by division of the cespi.
Environment Temperature: the species requires high temperatures, between 20 and 30 °C, with optimum over 25 °C; pH: neutral or, better still, slightly acidic; water hardness: media-tenera; lighting: just enough; the species in fact grows spontaneous in the places characterized by the forests to gallery, where the light is rather poor; substrate: without particular claims, better if to siliceous composition.
Notes Anubias lanceolata is an excellent hot aquarium plant for the resistance of the leaves; unfortunately it presents the inconvenience to grow very slowly.
