Hemianthus Callitrichoides is one of the smallest aquarium plants in the world and creeps on the bottom with millimetric round leaves. Hemianthus Callitrichoides is an attractive and popular close-up plant for small aquariums.
It is not a difficult plant, but requires good condition, as a sufficient light, added CO2, water circulation and fertilizer to thrive. If these conditions are difficult to create, you can use the MicRanthemum 'Monte-Carlo' as an alternative, which is less demanding.
Small oxygen pearls or bubbles often produce above the plants, adding a very lively appearance to the carpet.
If planted in small tufts a few centimeters from each other, it will spread quickly and cover the bottom as a rug. Cut the carpet regularly, otherwise the lower parts will not receive enough light, causing the death of the roots.
It is located in Cuba, west of Havana.
