The Lilaeopsis brasiliensis from South America can grow very compact, but the "Lawn effect" (4-7 cm high) is achieved only with a high luminous intensity. When planting in the aquarium, small tufts (about 1/8 of pot) should be placed a few centimeters away from each other to help plants grow together faster. Place it in an open position and not shaded by other plants to ensure good lighting. Lilaeopsis brasiliensis can be used in garden ponds and also tolerates low salt concentrations in brackish aquariums.
