400 liters with 4°KH (200 l per 10°KH).

It can be upgraded for higher hardness levels or large aquariums.

It works without further pumps.

I understand bubble counter.

It can be completely removable, easy to clean (with JBL PowerClean).

Description:

Passive CO2 reactor extendable, with the maximum diffusion of the CO2 rate in water.

Modular reactor construction JBL ProFlora Taifun allows its adaptation to virtually any type of aquarium with optimum use of CO2.

The basic version with 10 modules provides enough CO2 for aquariums up to 400 l.

The JBL ProFlora Taifun provides five additional modules increasing the capacity of another 200 l.

The particular construction of the spiral channel increases the upward thrust of the CO2 bubbles, while the ventilation wounds placed on both sides ensure the complete diffusion of CO2 emissions in the surrounding environment without the need for a further water pump to create current.

Thanks to the transparency of the reactor, bubbles can be clearly observed in their position, allowing to establish the maximum amount of CO2 emissions, even without a bubble counter.

Installation:

First rinse the reactor thoroughly in warm water. Do not use detergents.

Mount the reactor vertically into the aquarium in a place with a slight stream of water. The upper edge of the device must be at least 2 cm below the water surface.

Connect the CO2 tube to the pressure regulator and pass some bubbles through the device.

At first the bubbles will pass through the spiral channel with an intermittent flow from below up. The device needs about 48 hours to stabilize. After this time a biological film will be formed within the channel that will allow the bubbles to rise freely upwards. During the course the bubbles become smaller than how the CO2 spreads in the surrounding waters.

Note:

After some time the collection cap will fill with the gas that occasionally escapes up through the ventilation openings. This gas is not CO2, but "false" gases that are sometimes present in small quantities in the CO2 cylinders or that are located in the waters and mix with the bubbles.

The reactor should be cleaned as little as possible. Therefore it is recommended to mount in a position in aquarium as dark as possible with an adequate circulation of water.

The number of bubbles:

How much CO2 is necessary depends on the amount of water, carbonate hardness, necessary pH level and consumption by plants. Start initially with a bubble in each curve depending on the device and slowly increase the number over several days as required. The pH level can be used to monitor the quantity. We recommend using the JBL Test Set Permanent CO2 plus pH.

Maintenance:

The reactor is made of transparent Makrolon which allows the optimal observation of the bubbles. If necessary it can be cleaned with tap water. The device can be dismantled for cleaning by pulling the individual parts vertically. After cleaning, it is enough to reassemble. The individual modules fit together to ensure proper installation, for a continuous channel.

Optional modules:

The spiral channel can be extended, if necessary, with the addition of any number of extensions (JBL ProFlora Taifun extend).
