Detoxol, immediate detoxifier for healthy aquarium water - JBL

Ammonia and nitrite are toxic substances for fish. Usually biology and filter manage to maintain values in such a way as to make them harmless. Medicines, oversupply and/or overabundance of fish can alter this biological balance and allow these poisonous substances to increase in dangerous concentrations. Here we list differences with other products

Water conditioners like e.g. JBL Biotopol: the conditioner neutralizes chlorine, corrugation and heavy metals. But it cannot neutralize toxic nitrogen compounds such as ammonia and nitrite.

Bacterial preparations such as JBL Denitrol: This preparation is likely to eliminate ammonium/ammonia and nitrite, but biologically through bacterial decomposition.

This unfortunately is not possible in 10 minutes, but it needs several hours if not even days. For long-term operation of the aquarium the bacterial conditioner JBL Denitrol is the right product – for emergency intervention you will need JBL Detoxol.
