AmGuardTM reacts to contact with free ammonia within a few minutes and does not alter the pH free and ionized. Only the free ammonia is toxic. The traditional test kits used for ammonia detection convert all ammonia into free ammonia by raising the pH at a value between 12 and 14; AmGuardTM does not work in the presence of such a pH level and therefore you would get a false-positive result. Instructions for Use

Beginners: use a cap (5 ml) every 200 L of water daily or according to the amount of ammonia to be reduced (the cap of 2L and 4 formats L equals 10ml of product).

Aquariophiles: if you use the test Ammonia Alert, according to its result you will have to use the following doses:

ALERT: 1 cap (5ml) every 400 L of water daily

ALARM: 1 cap (5ml) every 200 L of water daily

TOXIC: 1 cap (5 ml) every 80 L of water daily
