Improvements in brief

The complete redesign of the heat sink and plastic of the Hydra 32 and 64 models has led to two important advantages. The best efficiency and the best layout have allowed greater compactness of the luminaires, while maintaining the necessary active cooling requirements for a high-power LED luminaire. The other advantage is derived from the modification of the wiring and plastic printed to better seal the lights for greater water resistance.

Water resistance is obviously a great advantage in aquarium lighting and, although a compact LED luminaire requires active cooling and therefore a fan that makes this difficult, we learned a lot over the years and all this experience we have now applied to the latest versions of our high-power Hydra devices. Water resistance does not mean that they are waterproof, so while new lamps should be able to undergo splashes of water better than ever, they are not waterproof.

The output in terms of PAR, color mixing and diffusion are all improved with new devices. The incorporation of multiple LEDs results in a more complete spectrum and the TIR lenses mix the light up to make it more efficient and effective, obtaining both a better fluorescence and a slightly wider coverage area. The positioning of LEDs and lens geometry mix light from clusters to further reduce color separation.

A specific lunar LED was added to 32 and 64.

For the programming of the lamps you use the existing myAi application, which is simple and fast. More control options for the next generation Hydra could be available over time.

The assembly systems previously available for Hydra lamps can also be used with new models. The exception is the Hydra Flex system that will require a different bracket due to the size difference of the new devices.
