PROJECT PREPARATION

First make sure that in the place chosen for the excavation do not pass pipes, boxes or cellars.

It is always good to buy a bigger cloth than the project: it is always better to have a few centimeters of reserve in case the calculations were wrong.

Remember to create 2 steps inside the pond to be able to place aquatic plants: one for palustri plants with a depth of about 20 cm and one for nymphs with a depth that varies between 40 and 80 cm.

The excavation must be leveled with a thin layer of sand or fine ground.

It is important to create a biological balance of algae and microorganisms to allow plants and fish to enter a favorable environment in their presence, therefore, in addition to insert a full filter recirculation pump we suggest the LIMPIDO product to eliminate traces of harmful chlorine for the life of the fish, and the ACQUABELLA product to establish a good bacterial colony.

The pump will have to remain active for a week in order to oxygenate the water and allow the birth of a decomposition fauna in the mesh of the filter.

After about a week it will be possible to insert plants and fish.

THE IDEAL STAFF

The best period for the construction of a new pond is the end of winter since the land is easier to work, and the plants come out of winter rest having enough force to stick and develop better in the new pond.

Of course you can build the pond even during the summer or autumn, at least until the days are still warm enough

LAGHETTO DIMENSION:

To maintain the biological balance with a certain ease and over time, it is important that the pond has an area of at least 10 square meters. (this corresponds to an area of 3.2 m x 3.2 m). At least 2 square meters must be at a depth of half a meter or 40 cm and this for two good reasons:

It is important to create a depth of at least 40 cm to ensure shelter to fish during the summer period from heat, and during the winter period from frost.

THE POSITION

We recommend placing the pond in an area exposed to sunlight, even if only for a few hours a day.

They are to avoid trees, whose leaves or needles, falling, polluting the water risking to poison the fish.

Also the needles are very difficult to remove from the bottom of the pond and the roots could be damaged irreparably during the excavation.

HOW TO STRETCH YOUR HAIR

To facilitate this operation, seek the collaboration of at least one other person.

Start filling the pond with water by making it adhere well to the walls of the excavation, fixing and masking well the edge with stones or tuff blocks.

Don't worry about the folds: reduces considerably with the water weight and will no longer be noticed once the pond is finished.

Attention! The cloth should not be under tension, or long going could yield and ruin!

Obviously, after drawing, you will not have to walk over the cloth, if not bare feet or wearing soft sneakers.

In the bottom it is possible to insert medium-large dimensions jaws; are absolutely forbidden loose soils or garden land, as they would pollute water and make it cloudy.
