Habitat: is a species widespread in the sub-tropical regions of South America, from south-east Brazil to Argentina and Paraguay. He lives in palustri biotopes, lakes and river, forming grassy carpets.
Growth: It is a palustrous plant similar to a grass, rarely higher than 5 cm. It grows on the edges of the water collections, bearing long periods of immersion.
Location: Typical plant for the first floor, also ideal for small aquariums.
Coltivation: this species is rather delicate and not always sticks in the aquarium. Requires a fine sand bottom moderately fertilized, intense lighting and clear water, with temperature not exceeding 25° C. A shortage of iron immediately causes the yellowing of the leaves.
