Prime Seachem

Prime can be used during normal aquarium operation to relieve ammonia and nitrite toxicity.

It also detoxifies nitrites and nitrates allowing the biological filter to be more efficient for their elimination. It promotes the production and regeneration of the natural veil of skin mucus in vertebrates and invertebrates. It is not acid and does not affect the pH and function of the skimmer. Use it at the start of the tank and at every change of water.

Why is it Different?

Similar to competing products that remove chlorine. None of these is comparable as quality, concentration and effectiveness to the company's flag product SeachemPrime. Prime is the most concentrated antichlorus on the market. One single 100 ml bottle is able to treat 1,000 gallons of tap water. Prime also contains a chemical binder that neutralizes ammonia, nitrite and nitrate toxicity. It is very important to understand how these two functions work together. All antichlorine work through a chemical process better known as reduction. In this process, dissolved toxic gas (Cl2) is converted into non-toxic chlorine (Cl) ions. The reduction process breaks the bond between chlorine and nitrogen atoms in chlorammine molecules (NCL3), freeing chlorine atoms and replacing them with hydrogen (H) to create ammonia (NH3).

Typically dechlorization ends so leaving in aquarium a lot of toxic ammonia. Seachem, instead found the solution to this problem including elements useful to the elimination of ammonia produced through the reduction process.

ISTRUCTIONS: 5 ml every 200 l of new water. Each fillet of the capsule is about 1 ml. Don't be alarmed if you smell sulfur: it's normal. To detoxify nitrites, in case of emergency, you can use a dose 5 times higher than normal. If the temperature exceeds 30° C and the level of chlorine or ammonia is low, halve the dose.
