PH-Plus, water conditioner for increased ph and kh
- To adapt the pH and carbonate hardness to the needs of fish and invertebrates in freshwater and marine aquariums
- Rapid increase in pH and stabilisation due to increased carbonate hardness (KH)
- Use in fresh water: dose repeatedly to raise carbonate hardness in too soft water until the desired value is reached. Maximum pH increase at 8.5
- Use in marine water: regulation of carbonate hardness on the natural marine value of 7 -12°d KH and consequently adjustment of the pH required from 8,0 to 8,4
- Content: 1 pH/KH fork bottle. Usage: 10 ml/40 l of water. Result in an increase of approximately 1 dKH and a stable pH

Nature at home – A habitat for fish and plants
Fish need to feel good in the aquarium as in nature. The inhabitants of the water have adapted to the acidity (pH) of their habitat and must find similar conditions also in the aquarium. For aquarium inhabitants a false pH does not only lead to stress but can also be cause of disease or can shorten the duration of their life. Water conditioners JBL lower or raise the pH, making aquarium water again suitable for fish.
The advantages of water conditioners JBL
Rapid increase in pH, stabilization due to increased carbonate hardness.
Aquatic chemistry for experts:
Carbonate hardness (KH) contains bicarbonates (HCO3)2, which stabilize the pH. In case of too low KH the pH value oscillates strongly and is at a minimum in the morning. During the day it increases and decreases again at night. Since the pH is a logarithmic value, a night decrease e.g. from 8 to 6 involves a centuplication of acidity! Carbonate hardness lowers too high pH value or increases too low pH value and stabilizes it, thus avoiding too strong fluctuations. In the freshwater aquarium the value of KH should never go under the 5 °dKH. Only in Tanganika or Malawi aquariums can pass it quietly. The marine water aquarium must have a KH between 7 and 12 °dKH, so that a pH of 8 - 8,4 is automatically established. Higher KH values do not make much sense and often involve the problem of calcium precipitation. For JBL pH-Plus is created based on sodium bicarbonate and would constantly apply bicarbonate to marine water aquariums but not calcium, we recommend adding JBL CalciuMarin, which provides both calcium and bicarbonate, for a regular increase of KH and pH stabilization in marine water aquariums.
