PH values

The optimum pH value for the conservation of most freshwater fish and plants is neutral around 7. JBL pH-Plus increases the pH value and carbonate hardness in the aquarium. This is necessary especially in areas with reduced carbonate hardness.

Effect in fresh water

The increase in pH is naturally achieved by increasing carbonate hardness. If water is too sweet, carbonate hardness can be increased to any desired value by multiple dosages. The pH rises to a maximum of 8.6.

Effect in marine water

Adjust the carbonate hardness to the value found naturally in the sea, or 10-12 °d KH and then adjust accordingly the pH value between 8.2 and 8.5.

Dosage: 10 ml in 40 liters of water determine an increase in carbonate hardness of about 1 °d KH and therefore, depending on the initial value, an increase in pH of 0-0,5 units.

1-2 days after using ph-Plus the pH and carbonate hardness value should be measured, for example with JBL pH Test or JBL KH Test. Only if necessary, administer again until you get the desired values.
