Phosphates (PO4) occur in the aquarium following the decomposition of organic substances.

Precisely in the narrow space of the aquarium there are many substances that decompose such as surplus food, plant residues, organic substances etc.

Although the presence of phosphates is necessary, only in very small concentration they are not harmful.

Natural waters not yet contaminated by man normally have a very low PO4 concentrate, but getting this optimal result in aquarium without the help of specific products is practically impossible.

When concentration increases, in fresh water there is an undesirable growth of algae, while in marine aquarium the synthesis of calcium in calcareous red algae, hard corals and other organisms for which calcium is a vital element.

Features:

To keep these problems under control it is recommended to keep the value of phosphates no later than 0.1 - 0.3 mg/l.

In marine water the concentration of phosphates should be kept below 0.015 mg/l.

Thanks to the highly active filter material ROWA®phos, which can be used both in fresh and marine water, this result can be reached without any problem.

ROWA®phos in fact binds phosphates without negatively affecting aquarium water when the material reaches saturation, without giving phosphates or any substance, such as aluminum.

ROWA®phos can also be used with very sensitive fish, such as Discus, or in invertebrates.

ROWA®phos can be inserted into a secondary circulation through a separate slow circulation filter, or even in a primary circulation as the last layer after biological and mechanical filtration.

Insert the material into the filter by enclosing it into a special mesh bag or placing it between two layers of fine filtering ovate.

Dosage (with 1 mg/phosphates):

ROWA®phos 100 ml: for 200 – 400 l fresh water or 100 – 200 l of marine water;

ROWA®phos 250 ml for 500 - 1000 l of fresh water or 250-500 l of marine water;

ROWA®phos 500 ml: for 1000 - 2000 l fresh water or 500-1000 l of marine water;

The duration of the material in the aquarium varies in relation to the concentration of phosphates present in water. It is controlled through a reliable PO4 test.

By regularly measuring, great effectiveness and the right time for material replacement is easily determined.

Depending on the concentration of phosphates ROWA®phos can act in your aquarium for several months, keep in mind that, especially in tanks exposed for a long period of high phosphate concentration, the PO4 may have tied in large quantities to decorations and bottom.

Tips for use:

In setting up a new aquarium, use ROWA®phos immediately to ensure that a high concentration of PO4 is not developed.

To eliminate phosphates successfully, it is recommended to use ROWA®phos in a methodical way both in newly prepared aquariums and for those already in operation.

ROWA®phos should not be rinsed.

A slight red water softening should not worry as it is not harmful to plants and animals and short-lived.

ROWA®phos must be kept in its well closed packaging to keep its effectiveness at its best.
